I decided to train for and run the Mayor's Midnight Marathon in Anchorage, Alaska with the Team in Training group in San Diego.
I was there from a Friday night to Sunday night. I suppose the cool thing was that the marathon was during the summer solstice. So it never really got dark in town. I got to see a lot of the beauty of Anchorage while running the marathon, although at the time, I don't think I was admiring the scenary. I think I was just wondering how much further I had to go before I'd pass out.
The town was small, but interesting. I did some gift shopping. I ate at the convention center. I ran. And I ran, and ran. And then I slept. Yup...that was my trip.
I suppose I need to eventually go back and go to Denali National Park and go whale watching. But for now, I can say that I've run a marathon in Anchorage.
